Osteopathy Osteopaths believe any upset of the structural
framework of our body can manifest itself in a variety of illnesses. Their
manipulative therapy works to relieve pain, improve mobility and restore
all-around health. Devised in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still who believed
that tension in the muscles and misaligned bones, whether caused by injury,
stress or destructive emotions, inhibited the body from optimum health. A
wide range of manipulative techniques are used to adjust the body varying
according to the part of the body being treated. Cranial osteopathy is a
special technique to resolve compression or distortion of the cranial bones.
The bones of the skull are manipulated using a light touch that can be
barely felt.
