In a recent article in the Denver Post (Oct. 2, 1998), a major HMO
player is pulling out of 8 Colorado counties as well as substantially pulling
back in other states regarding Medicare recipients. United HealthCare Corp.,
based in Minnetonka, MN said it is withdrawing from 86 of the 206 counties
where it has medicare plans, in Colorado, Florida, Texas, Illinois, New
York, New Jersey and Connecticut, among other states. Their reason is that
Medical costs were higher than expected and Medicare payments were lower
than anticipated. In the Denver Post (10-3-98) is information about two
more HMO's (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) that are discontinuing covering Medicare
elderly. How is your HMO provider (If you use one) fairing?
Scenes like this are likely to be repeated for other HMO's
who are also facing the need (in their own mind) of raising premiums for
the elderly who are covered by Medicare.
We believe HMO's and other providers are going to continue to
have operating problems regarding the cost of their brand of medicine,
whereas if they would embrace the use of alternative, holistic and complimentary
medicine, they would see their costs substantially reduce and fewer people
perhaps need medical care. The models for this approach to healthcare have
been shown time and time again to be very cost effective in Europe. And
the biggest plus of all is the fact the patient thrives on this because
the use of alternatives are completely compatible with the Human system!
This gives us the opportunity to suggest to our viewers that with
all the things happening in the world today, weather and earth changes,
and now the possibility of some health care going away, and one never knows
what may come tomorrow, that you plan ahead. The best things we would do

PHYSICAL CONDITION

Get yourself in the best physical shape possible in
the least amount of time so you will be ready at anytime should anything
happen to your healthcare. If you can do this and feel you are up to strenuous
physical activity that may be required for any emergency, then that's good.
A good plan is to go to the local gym or just workout with the family or
by yourself at home, doing a variety of in-place exercises and jogging
and walking. Do these on a regular basis and you will be amazed at the
results! |
FOODS

Since no one else really cares for your body and your
health like you should, it would be a very good idea to look carefully
at the foods you are eating and what you are putting into your body. In
our opinion we believe that those who would have you think they care about
you are in it only for the financial gain and could care less about you
and your body. Eliminate and reduce these to lose weight if you have to
- and with a well rounded program of exercise, you should lose some weight
if you are overweight. Your food can be changed from meats
and "fast" foods to vegetables and fruits, which are much more healthy
(we think) in the long run, and less expensive. We recommend you get and
read the book "Fit for Life". It has the "lifestyle" foods we ourselves
eat - plenty of vegetables and fruits. We stay away from all meats, and
dairy as well as liquor. We carefully read all labels on everything we
buy in the way of food eating nothing with any chemicals and eat moderately.
We follow guidelines as regards foods which you can get here in
Karinya. Why do we have all the chemically and genetically engineered
foods? If it were meant for us to have these, don't you think they would
be growing naturally in the fields? We also grow lots of our own food so
we know what is in it and where it comes from. |
EMERGENCIES and PREPAREDNESS

Obtain packaged foods that will last for a long time
and that are designed to provide nutritious and complete meals. These can
be stored and constitute an "emergency" store for the single person or
the family or any number of people if desired. These are available within

vitamins and supplements, ones that if you were to be eating reduced rations
of food, that would enable a person to still maintain their levels of cell

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE SPECIALIST

Search around in your community for a person who is
knowledgeable regarding alternative, holistic and complimentary medicine
and perhaps practices within this sphere of medicine. In our opinion, the
use of "standard" Western medicine, especially with regard to HMO's and
other practices, are only kidding themselves if they think they can effectively
solve all the world's ills through drugs and typical "standard" Western
medical practice at an affordable cost. It is these practices which condone
the heavy use of drugs and such, at the expense of the patient, which do
nothing in the long run to treat the underlying reasons for dis-ease. |
