SYNOPSIS
This new program available provides
basic and advanced cutting-edge information, techniques, "how to" approaches and advanced proven concepts for the design, programming and
implementation of Healthcare Information Systems.
Present status of IT (USA - 2007)
Estimated 1 million Physicians in the USA
Less than 18% of all Physicians have any computerization
Of the 18% that do have computers - less than 5% have electronic medical records
Less than 38% of all hospitals are computerized
A few of the many benefits of a Healthcare Information System:
-
Reduce/Eliminate medical transcription errors |
Faster/Improved health care system response |
Instant linkage to specialists and other providers |
Computerized Clinical Applications - reduce costs |
Electronic Medical Records - available instantly - reduce costs |
Eliminate extra time and trips by physician/providers to hospital |
Automatic checking for drug and other interactions |
Quick availability of data in emergencies around the world |
AND MUCH MORE! |
What is an Integrated System?
It is where all systems - the physicians practice, clinic and group practices, the hospital and other health care providers are
linked together. Information transcription time is cut substantially, the medical record is in electronic form making it easy and simple to
transmit and update, clinical applications are computerized such that for instance lab test results are auotmatically placed into the patient
electronic record, and MRI test results - the physician can view these while his patient is in the lab and can order more or different tests
if required, the entire system responds faster, and there are many many more benefits.
One of the important aspects of the Integrated System is that it encompasses the entire community which it serves - as can be seen in the
below chart. Everyone working together.

This is the new wave - which is here NOW!
(actually began in 1968 with the first real-time system with monitors throughout
the hospital in Sweden for 1.5 million population)
An exciting program you don't want to miss!
