The following are recommended basics for each family. These and more are included
in units as illustrated within the Preparedness and Survival Section in Karinya. We strongly
advise the use of homeopathic and herbal products instead of the "usual standard medical" products recommended. These
keep well, and are complimentary to the bodily systems.

Food: Ready-to-eat canned meats, fruits and vegetables
Canned juices, milk, soup (if powdered, store extra water)
Staples--sugar, pepper
Vitamins and supplements (basic)
Ready-to-eat cereals and uncooked instant cereals (in metal containers)
Dry, crisp crackers (in metal container)
Potatoes (fresh or dried flakes)
Foods for elderly or persons on special diets
Comfort/stress foods-- cookies, hard candy, sweetened cereals,
lollipops, instant coffee, tea bags, cocoa, chocolate bars, canned nuts
High energy foods--peanut butter, jelly, crackers, granola bars,
trail mix

Dry pasta
Dried spices (garlic, onion, oregano, chili powder, etc.)

Noncarbonated soft drinks
Bouillon products
Miscelleanous:
Mess kits, or paper cups, plates and plastic utensils
(you don't want to waste drinking water washing dishes!)
Disposable baby bottle liners
Flashlight and extra batteries
Nonelectric can opener, utility knife
Matches (a waterproof container is useful as well)
