Aromatherapy The Egyptians made use of aromatic plants in
great quantities, but the term was not coined until 1928 by a French
chemist. Essential oils are used therapeutically to balance body functions
and enhance health and appearance. Aromas are contained in concentrated
liquids, distilled from such items as plants, roots, flowers, branches,
barks and leaves. Effective in relieving stress, headaches, muscular and
rheumatic pains, digestive disorders, skin conditions and women’s PMS
